馬爾谷福音 10:17-27伯多祿前書好像採用了復活節聖洗禮儀的經文，或主教在聖洗禮儀的講道詞。今天選讀的片段，以一首讚美詩開始（3-5節）。這幾節經文簡練而完備地將聖洗的道理綜合，幫助我們更深入反省聖洗的奧秘。
「讓我們的主耶穌基督的天主和父受讚美」，我們將一切歸於天主父，但同時承認，我們能夠認識父，主要是透過耶穌在世的生活和教訓。天父因著祂的大仁慈，派遣祂的聖子來救贖我們，我們透過接受洗禮而獲得重生的大恩。這重生使我們的希望復燃，因為耶穌基督由死者中復活了。這希望正是那已經為我們而存留在天上的不壞、無瑕、不朽的產業。由我們接受洗禮的一刻開始，這希望便給我們賜下了，並不斷引導我們將生活整合，歸向天主。
主，在我們的人生旅途上，願聖洗的大恩不斷光照我們，使我們在祢的聖愛內常常讚美祢、侍奉祢。我們希望在我們軟弱時，常能得到祢的激勵。

生命在先，果子在後

經文: 「你們若充充足足的有這幾樣，就必使你們在認識我們的主耶穌基督上不至於閒懶不結果子了。」（彼得後書一：8） 若我們想榮神益人，首先我們本身要有上帝的生命，因為一切的工作，都是由內而外的，本固而根生。明白重生得救的真義，是一切德行的根基，有了信心與德行，要分外殷勤，加上知識、節制、忍耐；接著，還要加上敬虔，以及愛弟兄的心。我們若充充足足有這幾樣，就不致於閒懶不結果子，能做個行道的基督徒。總之，我們裡面若有不竭的活水泉源，自然而然會滿溢流露出來，造福別人。
我們發現不少很有才幹的基督徒，在引人歸主的事工上乏善可陳。經過仔細觀察，我們發現這些人缺乏結果子所必備的恩典。要榮神益人，對上帝國有用，恩典比恩賜重要多了，一個怎麼樣的人，就會做出怎樣的事，所謂誠於中形於外，一個工人要比工具重要得多，一個有主深厚生命的工人，要比有才華的主工人對上帝國有用，讓這節經文，對你我都是個提醒，知道先有生命，才能結出果子，領人歸主。@
As the Life -- So the Fruit
Scripture: "For if these thing be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our LORD Jesus Christ"(2 Peter 1:8). If we desire to glorify our LORD by fruitfulness, we must have certain things within us; for nothing can come out of us which is not first of all within us. We must begin with faith, which is the groundwork of all the virtues; and then diligently add to it virtue, knowledge, temperance, and patience. With these we must have godliness and brotherly love. All these put together will most assuredly cause us to produce, as our life fruit, the clusters of usefulness, and we shall not be mere idle knowers but real doers of the Word. These holy things must not only be in us, but abound, or we shall be barren. Fruit is the overflow of life, and we must be full before we can flow over.
We have noticed men of considerable parts and opportunities who have never succeeded in doing real good in the conversion of souls; and after close observation we have concluded that they lacked certain graces which are absolutely essential to fruit bearing. For real usefulness, graces are better than gifts. As the man is, so is his work. If we would do better, we must be better. Let the text be a gentle hint to unfruitful professors and to myself also. -

(Ps Wk III)To be a disciple, a follower of Jesus is in the end far more important than to be assigned church authority! Peter's primacy is in the pastoral care of the Church - the group of believing Christians. The Beloved Disciple's primacy is bestowed by Jesus' love. The Beloved Disciple's destiny is less dramatic than that of Peter's but more enduring: "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? Follow me!" The disciple who loves Jesus and keeps His commandments remains till the end of time, in a sense fulfilling the promise that the Word of God will endure forever! St Paul in Rome spends the last days of his life on earth proclaiming the Good News of Jesus and thus preparing a believing community of disciples to remain till Jesus comes, at the end of time. The Beloved Disciple embodies this believing community of disciples. Seemingly he stands behind Peter in v20 but in v7 earlier he is the first to recognize the Lord on the beach, at the water's edge, after the miraculous catch of fist.
Christian disciples need to recognize the signs of God's presence in their lives and those of others. In this way we can realistically proclaim the Lord if only we were not so preoccupied with the daily turmoil we are in always. So we need some fine-tuning to sense and hear the Spirit at work.
Let us pray that we be open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

在黑暗中照耀的光明

若望福音 21:15-19聖伯多祿三次正面回應基督愛情的邀請，基督就給予他餵養羊群的神聖使命。這使命在他伸出手來，讓人將他帶去他不願去的地方當中完成。他要在人生黑暗的受死中去光榮天主，去帶領羊群，傳播基督的復活，善用機會將福音傳到那時的世界中心羅馬去。
很快便是聖神降臨的慶節了，聖神要進入相信基督的信徒心內。祂要帶領我們走向基督的聖潔，與罪惡背道而馳。
基督與聖神的工作，都是引導我們歸向天父的家鄉，因為那裏有比天更高的天主慈愛，那慈愛已經彰顯於耶穌的復活中。因著我們的信德，我們可以分享那復活，我們在世雖有黑暗的時刻，但也有永生的寄望。
因此，我們全心感謝天主父，是祢使我們有力量克服我們生命中的黑暗時刻。是的，縱使我們不能避開世上的黑暗，但那可以是天主父的光榮時刻，因為我們可以依靠祢向黑暗中投入的仁慈，可以祈望祢終會賞給我們的復活。我們更相信那就是傳播祢福音的好時辰，因為有祢為我們制勝黑暗。
天父，我們倚靠祢，我們更要由衷讚頌祢。
